Ishan Asokan, MD

Dr. Ishan Asokan is a board-certified internal medicine physician and hospitalist with extensive experience across academic and community healthcare systems. He practices as an inpatient hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, and UCLA Health, where he also holds an appointment as Associate Physician Diplomat. In April 2025, he founded Asokan Healthcare Services, Professional Corporation, further expanding his clinical and consulting practice. He holds an active California medical license and DEA registration.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Dr. Asokan earned his Doctor of Medicine with honors in 2017 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at UCLA in 2021. He previously earned a Master of Science in Global Health Science from the University of Oxford, graduating with distinction in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with honors and distinction from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing an MBA at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he has been recognized with both the John Wooden Leadership Fellowship and the Dean’s Fellowship.

His academic work spans global health, oncology, and medical education, and includes numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations at national conferences. A former NIH Medical Research Scholars Program Fellow, Dr. Asokan has also been inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, received the AMA Foundation Physicians of Tomorrow Award, and been recognized as a “Top Doctor” in 2022 and 2025.
